Non-EU Countries Align With EU Sanctions Moves Related to Iran, Guinea-Bissau

A group of European countries not in the EU aligned with two recent sanctions decisions from the European Council, one under the Guinea-Bissau restrictions list and one pertaining to the situation in Iran.

On Aug. 3, the council added a humanitarian exemption to the Guinea-Bissau sanctions regime. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Liechtenstein, Norway and Armenia also imposed the decision, the council said.

On Sept. 15, the council added four people and six entities to its Iran sanctions regime. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway also imposed the decision, the council said.
