Xinjiang Business Advisory Update Highlights Non-Governmental Reports in Last Year
In a report that the State Department says highlights "the ongoing, widespread, and pervasive [state-sponsored forced labor] risks" in Xinjiang supply chains, the administration mostly reviewed developments in the last year -- such as CBP guidance on how to write summaries for applicability reviews, or non-governmental organizations' papers identifying sectors with links to Xinjiang.

Those outside reports highlighted the automotive industry, rayon, cotton, polysilicon, tomato products, pepper products, walnuts, calcium carbide, wind turbines, beryllium, red dates and PVC, the addendum to the U.S. government's Xinjiang Supply Chain Business Advisory said. The advisory, first issued in 2020, had previously been updated in July 2021 (see 2107130046).
It also listed additions to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act entity list through early August. Another addition was announced Sept. 26, the same day the addendum was released (see 2309260035).
