CBP Resumes Operations at Eagle Pass
CBP's Office of Field Operations resumed railway bridge operations at the Port of Eagle Pass, the agency said in a news release Sept. 23. The reopening comes three days after CBP suspended railroad operations at Eagle Pass on Sept. 20 (see 2309210005) because of an influx of migrants at that port of entry.

CBP said it is continuing to work with Mexico to "ensure safety and security throughout the region and on railway networks." While the Office of Field Operations will continue to assist U.S Border Patrol at Eagle Pass, vehicular "processing operations at Bridge 1 remain suspended," it said. CBP also said that it will continue to evaluate its "operational posture" and make adjustments as necessary. "CBP remains vigilant and will maximize consequences against those without a legal basis to remain in the United States," the agency said. "Across the southwest border, CBP will continue to prioritize our border security mission."
