Canada, Latin American Countries Issue AD/CV Actions on Chinese Imports

Colombia, Canada, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil recently announced antidumping and countervailing duty actions and decisions on certain products from mainland China, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council reported July 27.

Colombia began an AD probe on certain Chinese suspension‑type polyvinyl chloride, the report said. Parties can provide input, evidence and questionnaire responses no later than 30 business days from July 19.

Canada issued preliminary affirmative determinations in its AD and CVD investigations on certain Chinese wind towers, and will preliminarily assess AD/CVD on “all appropriate entries” using rates ranging from 97.6% to 193.8%. Mexico, in a move to comply with certain court decisions, recently confirmed its renewal of its AD order on certain Chinese aluminum cookware for five more years, HKTDC said. Imports worth less than $10.6/kg will continue to face an AD rate of up to $5.65/kg if exported by Zhejiang Sanhe Kitchenware Co. Ltd. or up to $7.73/kg if exported by other suppliers, the report said.

Brazil recently announced its schedule to complete an ongoing AD sunset review of certain Chinese citric acid and certain citrate salts. The country scheduled the closure of the evidential phase of investigation for Aug. 2, the deadline for data and information contained in the file for Aug. 22, the “issuance of technical note with essential facts under analysis to be considered in the final determination” by Sept. 5, the deadline for presentation of final submissions by Sept. 25, and the issuance of a final determination by Oct. 9.
