Sen. Rubio Asks CBP to Consider WRO on Indonesian Nickel From PT Vale
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote to CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller, arguing that since a Chinese-owned cobalt mining company is partnering with Ford and PT Vale Indonesia to open a nickel processing facility in Indonesia, "there is a high likelihood that Huayou will also introduce forced and child labor to Indonesia."

He said the Chinese firm, Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Company, "has been credibly implicated in the forced labor and human trafficking of child laborers" in its cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and that Chinese companies use forced labor in Xinjiang, and thus, he expects forced labor to be part of this venture.
The letter was made public May 3.
