BIS Denies Export Privileges for Illegal Weapon, Ammunition Exports
The Bureau of Industry and Security suspended the export privileges of two people for illegally exporting guns and ammunition.

Jermaine Craig Rhoomes, an inmate in a California federal prison, was convicted Feb. 5, 2020, for illegally exporting two 7.62-caliber AK47-style rifles, five 5.56-caliber AR15-style rifles, four 9mm-caliber pistols, two .40-caliber pistols, two .45-caliber pistols, 3,315 rounds of ammunition and 38 firearm magazines to Jamaica. Rhoomes was sentenced to 57 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. BIS revoked Rhoomes’ export privileges for 10 years from the date of conviction.
Eli Isael Rodriguez-Jasso, an inmate in a Georgia prison, was convicted Oct. 28, 2020, for trying to illegally export or exporting two firearms magazines to Mexico. Rodriguez-Jasso was sentenced to 46 months in prison with credit for time served, three years of supervised release and a $100 assessment. BIS revoked Rodriguez-Jasso’s export privileges for six years from the date of conviction.
