Administration Says African Leaders Will Address AGOA
African government officials, who will be coming to Washington next week for a summit, will be telling the administration what they would like to see in the renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, according to senior administration officials, speaking on background to reporters Dec. 8.

"Our partners in the region are clear that this is an important program to them, and it has been the bedrock of our trade relations since the legislation was passed in 2000," one of the Biden administration officials said.
"It's a conversation that has to be done in conjunction with Congress, but I think that we first believe that there's more we could do to optimize the use of this legislation between the United States and many African countries."
