State Dept. Approves Defense Sales to Taiwan, Poland, South Korea

The State Department approved four potential military sales -- two to Taiwan, one to Poland and one to South Korea -- worth more than $5.6 billion combined, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Dec. 6.

The two sales to Taiwan include $98 million and $330 million worth of “stock replenishment supply of aircraft non-standard spare parts and related equipment.” There are no principal contractors involved with the sales.

Poland will receive $3.75 billion worth of “M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks” and related equipment. The principal contractors will be AAR, Allison Transmission, Anniston Army Depot, BAE Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems, Honeywell, L3Harris, Leonardo DRS, Lockheed Martin, Palomar, Pearson Engineering and U.S. Ordnance.

The sale to South Korea includes $1.5 billion worth of “CH-47F helicopters” and related equipment. The principal contractor will be Boeing.
