CBP Posts List of Brokers Set for Transition From District to National Permits

CBP posted to its Part 111 final rule webpage a list of customs brokers currently operating only on district permits who will be transitioned to national permits over the next two months. The agency said any brokers who aren’t on the list but think they should be included should reach out to “the Broker Management Officer at the port through which your license was issued and/or the Broker Management Branch.”

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

The list can be found under the new drop-down labeled “National Permit Transition Information - List of Brokers Holding Only a District Permit.” A list of broker management officers broken out by port can be found on this CBP webpage.

CBP currently counts 370 brokers as those who will be transitioned by the agency. “CBP anticipates no lapse in active permits,” it said. “Each broker transitioned will be notified when their ‘pending’ national permit has been created and given an opportunity to provide CBP with amended address and permit qualifier information. The transitioned national permits will be ‘active’ upon the Final Rule effective date” of Dec. 19.
