  • CITT initiates dumping injury inquiry for wheat gluten. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced it initiated on Aug. 17 a preliminary injury inquiry into a complaint by ADM Agri-Industries Company, of Windsor, Ontario, alleging it has suffered injury as a result of the dumping of wheat gluten from Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Lithuania. CITT will determine Oct. 13 if there is a reasonable indication that the alleged dumping has caused injury or retardation of the domestic industry, or threatens to cause injury.
  • CBSA extends deadline in investigation for hot-rolled carbon steel heavy plate. The Canada Border Services Agency on Aug. 18 extended by 45 days the preliminary phase of its investigation into the alleged injurious dumping of certain hot‑rolled carbon steel heavy plate and high‑strength low‑alloy steel heavy plate from Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia and Turkey. The decision to issue a preliminary determination of dumping or to terminate the investigation will be made on or before Oct. 9, 2020.
