Center urged Congress to include such language in the FY 2021 Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. Such a framework would reaffirm U.S. AI leadership, the groups wrote to House Science Subcommittee Chairman Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., and ranking member Robert Aderholt, R-Ala. The U.S. “must stake out a leadership position in ensuring that the technology is being developed in a trustworthy and accountable manner,” the groups wrote.
