- CITT initiates injury inquiry into sucker rods. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Dec. 31, 2019, initiated an inquiry to determine whether the dumping of sucker rods originating in or exported from the Argentina, Brazil and Mexico has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic market. On April 28, 2020, the CITT will determine whether the dumping has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. Global affairs updated the 2019 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
- Customs Notice on Safe Food for Canadians licenses. As of Jan. 15, 2020, a Safe Food for Canadians license is mandatory to import certain foods into Canada. Shipments without an SFC license may experience delays or refusal of entry at the border, and importers may be subject to enforcement actions.
