Canadian Government Notices as of Nov. 22

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Nov. 22 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):

  • CBSA updates policy on importation and transportation of goods. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 18 revised Memorandum D3-1-1, which outlines and explains general CBSA requirements and administrative policies regarding the reporting and transportation of goods being imported into and moving in-transit, through Canada by all modes of transport. Revisions include additions and updates to the Definitions section, adding bond information and amounts for each mode of transportation, and clarifying corrections to cargo control documents, among other changes (see 1911190062).
  • CFIA suspends the food license of Border City Storage Ltd. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced that effective Nov. 19 it suspended the Safe Food for Canadians License of Border City Storage Ltd., a meat import storage facility in Windsor, Ontario, because it did not develop a compliant preventive control plan in accordance with the relevant provisions of Part 4 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.
  • Product Recalls: SCARPA Maestrale ski boots manufactured in Italy recalled, for injury and fall hazards; Mastercraft Maximum Zicronium Flap Discs, 4½ inch, manufactured in China recalled, for laceration hazard; Racine Carree children’s clothing with drawstrings manufactured in Canada recalled, for strangulation hazard.
