- CBSA concludes reinvestigation into certain carbon steel fasteners. The Canada Border Services Agency announced Nov. 14 that it has concluded its reinvestigation to update the normal values and export prices respecting certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from the China and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), and the amounts of subsidy with respect to certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from China.
- Global Affairs Canada releases update on export permits to Saudi Arabia. Global Affairs Canada on Nov. 13 updated the assessment of export permits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after determining the relations between Canada and Saudi Arabia have deteriorated, in part due to the conflict and resulting humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the Jamal Khashoggi killing. During the period of assessment, no existing valid permits were suspended or canceled, thus allowing for the continued export of some items, including Light Armoured Vehicles by General Dynamics Land Systems Canada.
