Canadian Government Notices as of Sept. 27

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Sept. 27 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):

  • CITT continues finding of dumping of circular copper tube. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal continued its determination from December 2013 of dumping of circular copper tube originating in or exported from Brazil, Greece, China, South Korea and Mexico, and subsidizing of the same originating in or exported from China, and that both are likely to result in injury to the domestic industry. The Canada Border Services Agency will therefore continue to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on these products.
  • CFIA suspends the Safe Food for Canadians license of St. Ann’s Foods Inc. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency suspended, effective Sept. 21, the Safe Food for Canadians licenses of two establishments -- Canadian Select Meats Inc., and The Beef Boutique LTD -- operating under St. Anne’s Foods Inc., a meat processor in Toronto, Ontario. CFIA said the company failed to implement effective control measures in accordance with Part 4 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations. There are no recalls of products currently associated with the suspensions.
  • Product Recall: ASKO dishwasher manufactured in Slovenia recalled, for fire hazard.
