Consumer Product Safety Commission, which then conducted a chemical analysis to determine the lead content. The brushes ultimately will be destroyed, because the coatings on them were found to have about 25 times the lead content that is safe for children, by U.S. regulations. The brightly colored folding hair brushes that came with mirrors would have retailed for about $7 each, CBP said in a July 19 press release. The shipment was headed for a Baltimore suburb.
