- CFIA suspends food safety license for egg shell grading station in Quebec. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced July 18 it has suspended the Safe Food for Canadians license for establishment 9029-2178 Quebec Inc. (Ferme aviocole Yves Labelle et fils), an egg shell grading station in Saint-Eustache, Quebec. The suspension is effective July 11, 2019, due to the operator not developing preventive control plans related to product and chemical control, in accordance with regulations. The site may not perform any licensed functions during the suspension, which may be lifted if corrective action is taken within 90 days of when it began. No recalls are associated with this action.
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade updated the 2019 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
- Product Recalls: Bodum Bistro Two-Slice and Four-Slice Toasters manufactured in China recalled, for electric shock hazard.
