Canadian Government Notices for March 15
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices for March 15 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):

- Silicon Metal from China: CBSA finding of injury likely. The Canada Border Services Agency on March 15 released the results of its expiry review investigation, begun Oct. 17, 2018, to determine whether the expiration of the finding of harm from the dumping and subsidizing of certain silicon metal originating in or exported from China is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the subject goods. CBSA determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and of subsidizing of such goods originating in or exported from China. A Statement of Reasons with additional details concerning the CBSA determination will be issued by March 30. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its finding is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry, and has announced that it will issue its decision no later than Aug. 22, 2019.
- Aluminum Extrusions from China: CITT expiry review initiated. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will initiate an expiry review of its March 2014 order on aluminum extrusions from China. The Canada Border Services Agency will first determine whether the expiry of the order with respect to the subject goods is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods. If the CBSA determines in the affirmative, CITT will then conduct an expiry review to determine if the continued or resumed dumping and subsidizing are likely to result in injury. The CBSA will provide notice of its determinations no later than Aug. 6, 2019. CITT will issue its order and its statement of reasons no later than Jan. 13, 2020.
- Product Recalls: O’Brien Watersports Inc. recalls Performer Pro Water Skis manufactured in China, for lower body injury hazard; Vetements Orchestra Canada Inc. recalls girls' two-piece “Puppy Love” pajama sets and “Hello Weekend” nightgowns manufactured in in Madagascar (nightgowns) and in India (two-piece pajama sets), for not meeting flammability requirements in Canada.
