CBP NY/NJ Document Analysis Unit Now Handling Problem Resolution Functions
The CBP Document Analysis Unit for the Port of New York/Newark, New Jersey took over most of the problem resolution functions as of Jan. 7, Port Director Adele Fasano said in a March 14 notice. The DAU "will assume all Problem Resolution functions, with the exception of Agriculture and Importer Security Filing (ISF) issues, which will remain as is," CBP said. CBP won't respond to questions about exam schedules or status, as the purpose of the "Problem Resolution Unit is to address and reconcile release issues for entries, transfers and completed CBP examinations," it said. The notice also includes a list of "the proper procedures when initiating a cargo release inquiry" and "some common scenarios."
