Alexa replies by offering an appropriate look, taking into account the venue, weather and dress code, and sends a selection to the user’s Alexa app and email, enabling users to click through to PerryEllis.com to add items to their shopping cart. The brand cited eMarketer data reporting that 35.6 million Americans use a voice-activated assistant device at least once a month. Of those users, 71 percent own an Echo, leading to Perry Ellis’ selection of Alexa for the app-based style assistant. In a Perry Ellis survey, a third of men said they skipped an event because they didn’t have the right clothes to wear, with job interviews, weddings and dates the occasions they struggle with the most, it said.
