CBP Boston Will Take 'Augmented Enforcement Measures' After Uptick in ISF Violations, Notice Says

CBP Boston announced “augmented enforcement measures” in an effort to increase compliance with Importer Security Filing requirements, in a Public Information Notice issued Sept. 22. “Recently, the Port of Boston has seen an upward trend in ISF violations resulting in the delays of cargo clearance by CBP,” it said. “As part of CBP’s strategy to facilitate safe and secure trade, liquidated damage claims may be assessed for failure to comply with reporting requirements,” the notice said. “CBP may also withhold the release or transfer of cargo until all Importer Security Filing reporting requirements have been satisfied,” it said.
