Canadian Government Notices as of July 10
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of July 10 (some may also be given separate headlines):

- Canada’s international merchandise trade in May 2017. Statistics Canada is reporting that Canada’s imports rose 2.4% to $49.8 billion while exports were up by 1.3% to $48.7 billion in May (here). The month saw an overall increase from April in the country's trade deficit.
- CBSA issues dumping determination on silicon metal from six countries. The Canada Border Services Agency has made a preliminary determination of dumping with respect to certain silicon metal originating in or exported from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Norway and Thailand. CBSA also made a preliminary determination of subsidizing of the same product originating in or exported from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Norway and Thailand. The agency also terminated the dumping investigation of certain silicon metal from Russia (here).
- Product Recalls: Beautycounter recalls Nourishing Day Cream sold in various gift sets manufactured in the United States (here), for infection risk; Ayablu Incorporated (dba Burt’s Bees Baby) recalls Butterfly Garden Coverall & Hat Set manufactured in India (here), for choking hazard; Design Solutions International with Home Depot Canada recalls Home Decorators Collection Comotti 3 and 4 light mirror tinted glass vanities manufactured in China (here), for laceration and burn hazards.
