The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of April 24 (some may also be given separate headlines):

  • Information for importers of food products. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reminds food importers and brokers that they are responsible for ensuring that any food imported into Canada for sale is safe and meets Canadian requirements and regulations (here). CFIA provides tools for compliance on its website.
  • CITT issues determination of injury for silicon metal. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has issued a determination that there is a reasonable indication that the dumping and subsidizing of silicon metal from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Norway, Russia and Thailand have caused injury or threaten to cause injury to the domestic industry (here).
