CBP Releases Agenda for 59th Session of WCO HSC
CBP issued a notice regarding the dates and draft agenda for the 59th Session of the World Customs Organization’s Harmonized System Committee (HSC), which will meet in Brussels March 15-24, in the Feb. 8 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 51, No. 6) (here). Among other things, the HSC issues classification decisions on the interpretation of the Harmonized System (HS) in the form of published tariff classification opinions or amendments to the Explanatory Notes. It also considers amendments to the legal text of the HS.

- Position regarding Contracting Parties to the HS Convention and related matters and progress report on the implementation of HS 2017

- Reopening the examination of possible amendment of Article 8 of the HS Convention with a view to speeding up the decision-making process for the HS Committee by limiting the number of reservations in respect of its decision
- Draft corrigendum amendments to the Compendium of Classification Opinions
- Draft amendments to the Explanatory Notes.
