CBP Provides Statistics on FY 2015 Textile Foreign Factory Visits

CBP provided a summary of the fiscal year 2015 Textile Production Verification Team (TPVT) visits in a Feb. 22 letter to the U.S. Fashion Industry Association (here). CBP completed visits to El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Korea, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Madagascar and Mauritius. Shipments from closed or high risk factories unable to provide production records to satisfy CBP's origin requirements will be scrutinized more closely at CBP ports for their preference claims and marketing, said CBP.

Trade Preference Program Verifications
CBP verified claims for associated trade agreements during the TPVT visits, it said. The total number of factories identified in various categories for a country may differ from the total number of factory visits in the country because the TPVT had multiple objectives for the visit, said CBP.
