Plaintiff Caroline Tongarm filed the action to “enjoin” Vizio from tracking and collecting users’ personal information without their consent, and to seek damages “on behalf of herself and other similarly-situated owners for violations of their privacy and consumer rights under federal and state law,” said the complaint, filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco. Vizio representatives didn’t comment Friday, nor has the company filed defense answers to any previous complaints.
