The agency is "working to amend the regulatory requirements of vessel operators to eliminate paper-based submission" of crew and passenger lists, said CBP. "The amendment will also include CBP capturing signature of vessel operators/agents and the transmission of the electronically signed" copies, it said. CBP asked that NAMO members sign up to take part in the electronic signature testing, which is "contingent on availability of mobile tablets and accessibility to mobile connectivity."
