China Wooden Bedroom Furniture: Prelim Results of AD Admin Review

The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on wooden bedroom furniture from China (A-570-890) (here). The agency preliminarily found seven companies under review, including Shanghai Jian Pu Import & Export Co., Ltd, were uncooperative, and tentatively assigned them to the China-wide entity with an AD rate of 216.01%. Commerce also preliminarily found the 11 other reviewed companies had no exports of subject merchandise to the U.S. during the period under review, intending no changes to these companies' AD rates.

The six companies Commerce preliminarily assigned to the China-wide entity are: Shanghai Jian Pu, Baigou Crafts Factory of Fengkai; Dongguan Hung Sheng Artware Products Co., Ltd., Coronal Enterprise Co., Ltd.; Hualing Furniture (China) Co., Ltd., Tony House Manufacture (China) Co., Ltd., Buysell Investments Ltd., Tony House Industries Co., Ltd.; Orient International Holding Shanghai Foreign Trade Co., Ltd.; Prime Wood International Co., Ltd, Prime Best International Co., Ltd., Prime Best Factory, Liang Huang (Jiaxing) Enterprise Co., Ltd.; and Woodworth Wooden Industries (Dong Guan) Co., Ltd.

In its final results, Commerce will set assessments on importers of AD duties for entries in calendar year 2014. If these preliminary results are adopted unchanged, Commerce will assess duties at 216.01% for importers from the seven China-wide companies. Any entries bearing the case number of the 11 "no shipments" companies will also be assessed duties at the 216.01% China-wide rate.

Only the 18 exporters of subject merchandise for which an administrative review was requested are covered by this review. Cash deposit rates for all other exporters will not change. Commerce has ordered liquidation "as entered" for entries during the period of review from all exporters for which a review was not requested (here) or subsequently withdrawn (here).

(The period of review is 01/01/14 -- 12/31/14. See notice for additional information, including the scope of the order, potential cash deposit and assessment instructions, etc.)
