The h.h. gregg Black Friday circular lists a full menu of LG 4K doorbusters -- all under $1,000 -- available while supplies last from 4 p.m. until midnight Thanksgiving: a 43-inch for $398 ($101 off), 49-inch for $498 ($201 off), 55-incher for $698 ($201 off) and 65-inch for $998 ($301 savings). A Seiki 65-inch 4K TV is at $598, down from $999, said h.h. gregg.

Samsung 4K TV pricing at h.h. gregg, good from Thanksgiving through Saturday, Nov. 28, starts at $448 for the UN40JU6400 and includes a 50-inch model for $798 ($501 off) and a 60-inch model with Samsung soundbar for $898 ($801 off). Discounted TVs in Samsung’s reference series SUHD line include the 55-inch UN5050JS7000 ($501 off to $798), a 55-inch model in the series (down $601 to $998) and a 60-inch model down $801 to $1,298. The retailer is tossing in a free 32-inch Samsung HDTV model and a WD Passport Cinema storage drive with the purchase of select Samsung SUHD 4K TVs, said the h.h. gregg ad.

Sony also pitched sale-priced 4K Ultra HD TVs -- up to 60 percent off -- in the h.h. gregg Black Friday sale but at prices higher than the leader models from competing tier one companies LG and Samsung. Sony XBR TVs, under the banner “Sony 4K Ultra HD TV Lowest Prices of the Year,” will start at $698 for a 43-inch XBR43XB30C, $798 for a 49-inch model, $998 for a 55-incher and $1,498 and $2,998 for 65- and 75-inch models.

Sony Chief Operating Officer Mike Fasulo, who last year blasted unnamed rivals for what he saw as unnecessarily low 4K pricing that dragged down TV profitability in the holiday quarter (see 1412090050), whistled a different tune Thursday. “I don’t follow it,” Fasulo told us at a Sony Hi-Res Audio event in New York, when we asked him about steep discounting in Black Friday ads in the 4K TV category. Sony’s focus remains on the premier segment of the 4K market and the company offers its retailers protection with its unilateral pricing structure, Fasulo said. He said Sony has seen “three to four times” growth in 4K TV this year. “Adoption of premium TV is very good right now,” he said, with consumers in a “replacement” mode.

LG doorbuster 4K TV deals at Target beginning at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving include a 49-inch model, cut by $300 to $499, and a $797 55-inch TV, regularly $1,199, said the Target ad.

Best Buy’s 4K doorbuster, when doors open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving, is the Samsung 60-inch UN60JU6390FXZA for $799, with prices good through Saturday of that weekend, while supplies last, said the retailer. The 60-inch TV, not yet in Best Buy stores, has a $1,499 regular price listing at Best Buy.com.

At Walmart, a one-hour guarantee item for Thanksgiving is LG’s LG 55-inch smart 4K UHD TV, marked down $300 to $698, while a 55-inch Hisense 4K TV goes on sale for $448 at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving through that Friday, said the Walmart circular. A Samsung curved 55-inch 4K TV during the same sale period will be down $200 to $998 at Walmart.
