Thailand Retail Bags: Prelim Results of AD Admin Review
The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on polyethylene retail carrier bags from Thailand (A-549-821) (here). The agency preliminarily assigned an AD rate of 122.88% to Beyond Packaging Co., Ltd. If Commerce makes no changes in its final results, it will assess AD duties on importers of uranium from Beyond Packaging at 122.88% for subject merchandise entered Aug. 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014. Subject merchandise from any other exporters entered during that period will be liquidated "as entered" at the cash deposit rate in effect at time of entry.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.
Changes to cash deposit requirements would take effect on the date of publication of the final results in the Federal Register. For now, the most recent final AD rate calculated for each exporter is still applicable. If no final AD duty rate has ever been calculated for a company, then it is subject to the all others rate of 4.69%. The final results of this administrative review are currently due in September.
(The period of review is 08/01/13 -- 07/31/14. See notice for additional information, including the scope of the order, potential cash deposit and assessment instructions, etc.)
