  • MEPs support Ukraine loan plan. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) International Trade Committee approved a 1.8 billion euro loan to help Ukraine in light of Russian trade restrictions on the country. The loans will be disbursed in exchange for economic reform commitments. (here)
  • Barriers to trade still exist. The fifth edition of the EU’s Trade and Investment Barriers Report (TIBR) shows that barriers to trade and investment still exist despite strides made in trade agreements and partnerships. The EU identified regulations of key partners like Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Russia, and the U.S. as evidence of a continued problem. EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström said the findings were "disappointing" now that the global economy is finally starting to recover. (here)
  • Recalls. The European Commission issued its weekly list of measures to prevent or restrict the marketing or use of 43 products in the EU, including certain clothing, toys, cosmetics, protective equipment, furniture, and electrical appliances. (here)
