Mexico Washing Machines: Prelim Results of AD Admin Review
The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on large residential washers from Mexico (A-201-842) (here). The agency preliminarily calculated an AD rate of 4.48% for Electrolux Home Products. Commerce also preliminarily found Samsung had no exports of subject merchandise to the U.S. during the period under review.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.
If Commerce's findings are continued in the final results, importers of subject merchandise from Electrolux entered Aug. 3, 2012 through Jan. 31, 2014 will be assessed AD duties at importer-specific rates. Any changes to cash deposit rates will take effect on the publication date of the final results in the Federal Register. Samsung's cash deposit rate wouldn't change under Commerce's "no shipments" determination.
These AD duty rates are only preliminary, and do not change current AD duty rates. For now, the most recent final AD rate calculated for each exporter is still applicable. If no final AD duty rate has ever been calculated for a company, then it is subject to the all others rate of 36.52%. The final results of this administrative review are currently due in July.
(The period of review is 08/03/12 -- 01/31/14. See notice for additional information, including the scope of the order, potential cash deposit and assessment instructions, etc.)
