France Uranium: Prelim Results of AD Admin Review

The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on low-enriched uranium from France (A-427-818) (here). The agency preliminarily assigned an AD rate of 30.22% for AREVA (i.e., the combined entity formed by Eurodif S.A., AREVA NC, and AREVA NC, Inc.). If Commerce makes no changes in its final results, it will assess AD duties on importers of uranium from AREVA at 30.22% for subject merchandise entered February 2013 through January 2014. Changes to cash deposit requirements would take effect on the date of publication of the final results in the Federal Register.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

These preliminary AD duty rates do not affect current cash deposit requirements. For now, the most recent final AD rate calculated for each exporter is still applicable. If no final AD duty rate has ever been calculated for a company, then it is subject to the all others rate of 19.95%. The final results of this administrative review are currently due in July.

(The period of review is 02/01/13 -- 01/31/14. See notice for additional information, including the scope of the order, potential cash deposit and assessment instructions, etc.)
