China 53' Containers: Commerce Amends AD Cash Deposit Rates

The Commerce Department is amending its preliminary determination in the antidumping duty investigation on 53-foot domestic dry containers from China (A-570-014) (here). The new AD cash deposit rates took effect Dec. 31.

Liquidation Suspended, AD Cash Deposits Required Since Nov. 26

Commerce issued its original AD duty preliminary determination in November, finding dumping by all Chinese companies, including China International Marine Containers, which it found to be state-controlled and part of the China-wide entity.

New AD Cash Deposit Requirements for 'All Suspended Entries' Beginning Dec. 31

Commerce is now amending the AD duty cash deposit requirements it set in its original preliminary determination, after finding errors in its calculations. Because the corrections result in a drop in Hui Zhou's AD duty rate, Commerce will make the change to Hui Zhou's rate retroactive back to Nov. 26. The change to the cash deposit rate for the China-wide entity, including CIMC, took effect Dec. 31.
