State Gives Terrorist Designation to Nine Iranian Companies for WMD Involvement
The State Department issued two notices to designate a total of nine Iranian companies as Foreign Terrorist Entities. The moves draw from the 2005 Executive Order 13382, which provides the administration greater authorities to clamp down on entities that are involved in weapons of mass destruction proliferation (here). One of the notices designated the following four companies as Foreign Terrorist Entities (here):

The other notice added the following five companies to the list of Foreign Terrorist Entities (here):
- Eyvaz Technic Manufacturing Company
- The Exploration and Nuclear Raw Materials Production Company
- Maro Sanat Company
- Navid Composite Material Company
- Negin Parto Khavar
The designations include prohibitions against knowingly providing, attempting or conspiring to provide material support or resources or engaging in transactions with this entity. The designations also freeze all property and interests of the entity in the U.S. or in the control of U.S. citizens.
