- Canada’s international investment for the second quarter. Canada’s net international investment position fell by 94.7 billion in the second quarter which was attributed to a higher Canadian dollar as well as a relatively strong Canadian equity market. (here)
- Harper Government invests in Canada’s Bio-products sector. The Minister of Agriculture Gerry Ritz announced the investment of $7 million in Bioindustrial Innovation Canada for its national bio-products cluster which will help create opportunities for Canadian farmers by bridging the gap between market ready products by connecting technology development products. - Barley TRQ quota. The DFAIT has announced that it will fill the TRQ for barley on October 3, 2014, which will be the cut-off date for accounting for imports of all barley products and classified under a within access commitment tariff item number. Those after the cut-off date will be classified under over the access commitment tariff item number. (here)
- Certain concrete reinforcing bar. The CBSA has made a preliminary determination respecting the dumping and subsidizing of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from China, Korea and Turkey. (here)
- CBSA officially opens new and improved Cornwall port of entry. The CBSA has announced that it has opened a new and improved Cornwall port of entry equipped with 5 new inspection lanes which can accommodate high volumes of traffic. (here)
- Product Recalls. John Wood recalls fifty gallon propane fueled residential water heaters manufactured in the United States (here) Kidde Recalls Residential Smoke Alarms and Combination Smoke/CO Alarms manufactured in China (here)
