State Asks for Comments on US-Jordan Environmental Cooperation
The State Department is asking for stakeholder comments on a 2014-2017 Work Program for the U.S.-Jordan Joint Forum on Environmental Technical Cooperation. The two sides will meet on Sept. 8 in Amman, Jordan to discuss details of the work program and the broader goal of developing cooperation initiatives designed to improve environmental protection in Jordan. The governments launched the joint forum in 2000 alongside the U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement. State is asking for written comments, due on Sept. 4, that focus on inclusion of specific items on both the meeting agenda and work program. The 2012-13 Work Program prioritized the following four areas of cooperation:

State said it prefers comments are submitted via email to Geoff Finger at FingerGT@state.gov or faxed to (202) 647-5947, with the subject line “United States-Jordan Environmental Cooperation.”
