China Aluminum Extrusions: Prelim Results of CV Admin Review
The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its countervailing duty administrative review on aluminum extrusions from China (C-570-968). The agency preliminarily calculated individual CV duty rates for the Alnan Companies and Jiangsu Changfa Refrigeration. It also calculated preliminarily CV rates for nearly 59 companies that are under review but aren't being individually examined, and assigned penalty rates to four companies for failure to respond to the agency's initial quantity and value questionnaire.

Rates Only Preliminary; Cash Deposit Rates From Previous Proceedings Still in Effect
These CV rates are only preliminary, and do not change current CV duty rates. Commerce may still change its calculations when it issues the final results of this administrative review. For now, the most recent final CV rate calculated for each Chinese company is still applicable. If no final CV duty rate has ever been calculated for a company, then it is subject to the all others rate. The final results of this administrative review are currently due in October.
Cash Deposit Requirements
Once Commerce issues its final results, new CV duty cash deposit requirements may take effect for some companies, beginning on the date of publication of the final results in the Federal Register.

Assessment Rates
When Commerce issues its final results, it will use them to set assessments of CV duties on importers of magnesia carbon bricks from China entered between Jan. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2012.
