India Stainless Steel Bar: Prelim Results of AD Admin Review

The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on stainless steel bar from India (A-533-810). The agency preliminarily calculated a zero-percent AD rate for Ambica Steels Limited. If the agency's finding is continued in the final results, importers of stainless steel bar from Ambica entered between February 2012 and January 2013 will not be assessed AD duties, and future entries from Ambica will not be subject to an AD cash deposit requirement until further notice.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

These preliminary results do not change current AD duty rates, and Commerce can change them in the final results of this review. For now, the most recent final AD rate calculated for each Indian company is still applicable. If no final AD duty rate has ever been calculated for a company, then it is subject to the all others rate of 12.45%. The final results of this administrative review are currently due in July.

(The period of review is 02/01/12 -- 01/31/13. See notice for additional information, including the scope of the order, potential cash deposit and assessment instructions, the all others rate of 19.43%, etc.)
