The proposed alliance would align the three largest container carriers, Maersk Line, CMA-CGM, and Mediterranean Shipping Company (see 13102314). FMC Commissioner William Doyle said in a statement he approved of the decision to extend the comment period. "It’s important to allow the shipping public and stakeholders the opportunity to comment on an alliance such as this that comprises the world’s three largest container ship carriers," he said (here).
