Canadian Government Notices for Nov. 20

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices for Nov. 20 (Note that some may also be given separate headlines.)

  • China copper tube. The CBSA has announced that it has made a final determination that dumping did occur for copper tube originating in or exported from Brazil, Greece, China, Korea, Mexico and a final determination that subsidizing of this product took place originating in or exported from China.   • Chicken and chicken products quota. The DFAIT has updated the 2014 chicken and chicken products quota notice to importers inviting applicants to submit their applications for a share of the chicken tariff rate quota period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2014. (here)
  • Hot rolled carbon steel plate. The CITT has released its preliminary determination and has found there is reasonable information that dumping did occur for hot rolled carbon steel plate originating in or exported from Brazil, Taiwan, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Korea. (here)
  • China silicon metal. The CITT has conducted an inquiry to determine if there is dumping and subsidizing of certain silicon metal and has determined that it has not caused injury but is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry. (here)
  • NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. DFAIT updated the 2013 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports (here) and exports. (here)
  • Product Recalls. Ameco Paradisio Apparel Inc. recalls polo pajamas manufactured in India (here), Midea International recalls Garrison Oil-filled Heaters manufactured in China. (here)
