CPSC Commissioner Adler to Take Over as Interim Chairman After Tenenbaum Leaves for Nelson Mullins

Robert Adler will take over on Dec. 1 as acting chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, said a commission spokesman. Adler is a current CPSC commissioner. Current CPSC Chairwoman Inez Tenenbaum will join law firm Nelson Mullins on that date, where she will work with the firm’s product safety, risk prevention & regulatory practice group, said the law firm in a press release (here). "I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve in President Obama's administration in the Consumer Product Safety Commission," Tenenbaum said. "I look forward to working with the private sector in understanding consumer product regulations."

Tenenbaum announced in March that she wouldn’t seek renomination to another term as CPSC chairwoman (see 13030120). She had said that she would stay on until her successor is nominated and confirmed by the Senate (here).
