CBP Reduces Review Requirement for Defense Contract Management Agency Entry Summaries
Effective July 15, CBP will have a reduced review requirement for Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) entry summaries, CBP said. CBP will no longer have a paper entry against which to match duty-free certificate, as required in the former process, according to a CBP memorandum. Receipt of a duty-free certificate should be returned with a note stating that the documentation should be maintained and provided upon request by CBP.

For validation activities opened prior to the date of CBP’s memorandum, review of the DCMA duty-free certificate against the entry summary will continue along with the “appropriate completion of the VA and the liquidation of the entry summary,” CBP said. The process change will not impact the processing of the P99 entries, and “is strictly in reference to the 9808 merchandise heading to a military contractor,” the memorandum said.
