activities. The agency has authority over such licenses through the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act. Most of the licenses -- 189 -- were for Iran; 34 were for Sudan, OFAC said. The agency also issued 115 license amendments and 13 denial letters over the quarter, which runs from October through Dec. 31, 2012. A large majority of the total number of licenses were for exporting medical devices.
