Census Discusses AES Fatal Error Response Codes 118, 250

The Census Bureau sent out AES Broadcast #2013019 as part of a series of monthly educational broadcast messages on fatal errors in the Automated Export System. This month Census is highlighting AES error codes 077 (Commodity Line Item Missing) and 641 (Quantity 1 Must Be Greater Than Zero). The broadcast covers the reasons for these error messages and how to resolve them, as follows:

Fatal Error Response Code 077: Commodity Line Item Missing

Reason: No commodity line items were included in the shipment.

Resolution: At least one commodity line item must be included in the shipment. Verify the commodity line information, correct the shipment and resubmit.

Fatal Error Response Code 641: Quantity 1 Must Be Greater Than Zero

Reason: The Schedule B/ HTS Number reported requires a Quantity 1 to be reported and Quantity 1 is missing.

Resolution: Report a Quantity 1 greater than zero. Verify the Quantity 1, correct the shipment and resubmit.
