One individual, a Greek national, was added to the SDN List under Iranian Transaction Regulations and the Iran Sanctions Act:

  • Dmitris Cambis, aka Dimitrios Alexandros Kampis, aka Gustav Klimt. According to a State Department statement (here), Cambis is president of Impire Shipping, which helped the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) obtain eight tankers in late 2012. The vessels are purchased and controlled by Cambis and Impire, but operate on behalf of NITC. U.S. law prohibits knowingly owning or controlling vessels operating in a way that hides Iranian origin of crude oil.

Two other companies were also added to the list -- Kish P&I and Central Insurance of Iran -- for their affiliation with NITC. Kish P&I provides insurance for NITC, and is in turn reinsured by Central Intelligence of Iran, the statement said. Persons knowingly providing insurance or reinsurance for NITC can be sanctioned under U.S law. The complete list of entities added to the SDN list follows.
