World Trade Organization Notices for March 2-4

- Dispute Settlement Body meeting. The Dispute Settlement Body has established a panel to further investigate the U.S.'s claim against Vietnam on imports of shrimp (DS429). In the matter of Measures Affecting the Cross Border Supply of Gambling and Betting Services (DS285), the DSB had given approval at the January 2013 meeting for certain intellectual property (IP) suspensions, which Antigua and Barbuda had a right to exercise. The U.S. claims Antigua and Barbuda did not notify the U.S. or DSB on how the IP suspensions would be implemented, as the DSB ruling had required. Antigua and Barbuda are now calling on members to defend the WTO’s fundamental principles and to ensure that its rulings are applied equally by all countries despite their size. (here)
