OFAC Settles with Dal-Tech Over RF Exports to Iran

Dal-Tech Devices of Boca Raton, Fla., dba Microwave Distributors, agreed to pay $10,000 to settle potential civil liability for apparent violations of the Iranian Transactions Regulations, said the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control. OFAC said Dal-Tech's prior ownership and management apparently violated the ITR by making an unlicensed sale and export of radio frequency measurement devices valued at $3,226 to Austria with knowledge that the items were intended for transshipment to Iran.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

The settlement coincides with a Deferred Prosecution Agreement between Dal-Tech and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Delaware. Since Dal-Tech didn't voluntarily disclose the matter to OFAC, it was considered an egregious case. OFAC said Dal-Tech's prior management at least had reason to know that the company's goods were ultimately destined for Iran, but Dal-Tech has not been the subject of any prior OFAC enforcement action and will implement a compliance program.
