Border Trade Alliance Names New Leadership

The Border Trade Alliance (BTA) announced the its leaders for 2013.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

The BTA's officers will be:

  • Chairman: Jesse Hereford, S&B Infrastructure, San Antonio
  • Vice-Chairman: Russ Jones, R.L. Jones Customhouse Brokers, San Luis, Ariz.
  • Treasurer: Carrie Stumfall, Hunt Mexico, Inc., Dallas
  • Secretary: Fred Schwien, The Boeing Company, Arlington, Va.
  • Past Chairman: Sam F. Vale, Starr-Camargo Bridge Co., Rio Grande City, Texas

The Committee Chairs will be:

  • Security and Trade: Miguel Perez, Ryder Supply Chain Services, El Paso, Texas
  • Transportation and Infrastructure: Jesse Hereford, San Antonio
  • Public Policy: Sam F. Vale, Rio Grande City

“This committee is extremely important to our policy agenda, in analyzing and making recommendations on issues ranging from customs policies and procedures to trusted shipper programs like C-TPAT," said Hereford in the BTA press release.

New directors will be:

  • Jim Smith, AO Smith, Corp., Ashland City, Tennessee
  • Julian Alvarez, Rio Grande Valley Partnership, Weslaco, Texas
  • Hermenegildo Gonzalez, Laredo Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers, Assoc., Laredo, Texas
