Census Discusses AES Fatal Error Response Codes 501 and 510

The Census Bureau sent out AES Broadcast #2012070 as part of a series of monthly educational broadcast messages on the Automated Export System. This month Census is highlighting AES error codes 501 (Export Information Code Missing) and 510 (Export Information Code Cannot Be Claimed With License Code). Fatal Error Response Code 501: Export Information Code Missing

Reason: The Export Information Code is missing.

Resolution: An Export Information Code must be reported on every Electronic Export Information (EEI). Verify the Export Information Code, correct and resubmit. For a complete list of Export Information Codes, see Appendix E -- Commodity Filing Export Information Codes and Reporting Guidelines.

Fatal Error Response Code 510: Export Information Code Cannot Be Claimed With License Code

Reason: The Export Information Code reported is not one associated with the License Code/ License Exemption Code reported.

Resolution: The Export Information Code reported must be compatible with the reported License Code/ License Exemption Code. See Appendix E -- Commodity Filing Export Information Codes and Reporting Guidelines to determine the appropriate Export Information Code and License Code/ License Exemption Code combination. Verify the Export Information Code and License Code/ License Exemption Code, correct and resubmit.
